Paper Conservation in Metro Detroit

Carta Conservation is a dedicated paper conservation practice. Lea Faoro holds a graduate degree in the conservation of works of art on paper and adheres to the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice of the American Institute for Conservation.

We treat prints, drawings, maps, archival and legal documents, parchment and vellum. Common treatments include surface cleaning, tear repair, stain reduction, flattening, consolidation, lining, and the removal of aged tape and adhesive residue.

Carta Conservation serves museums, university and research libraries, archives, corporate collections and private collectors across Metro Detroit and Michigan, with travel to Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.
